Paul McCartney and Wings London Town marked a fascinating turning point for the band when it was released in 1978. Recorded partly aboard a boat in the Virgin Islands, the album blended folk influences, polished pop, synthesizers and experimental studio effects on songs including “With a Little Luck,” “I’m Carrying,” “Girlfriend” and “Morse Moose and the Grey Goose.” Although London Town sold millions of copies, it has often been overshadowed by albums such as Band on the Run and Wings at the Speed of Sound.
